Come for: The Workshops Learn about Individual Education Plans (IEPs) – the Identication Placement and Review Committee process (IPRC) – transition planning for elementary, secondary and post-secondary environments – use of technology – psycho-educational assessment – advocacy and more… The Marketplace Connect with agencies and personnel specializing in the support of children with special needs/gifts and their families. There will be a wide variety in attendance. Join DSAT for an all ages event, as we celebrate this special occasion with our ever-growing and supportive community.  DSAT will be hosting a very special event with an evening of food, live entertainment, spectacular guest speakers, including YouTube sensation, Madison Tevlin and activities for all ages.  Come Celebrate! Individual Education Plan (IEPs) Resource or Burden? The Individual Education Plan (IEP) is probably the single most important document involving the school and parents around the fundamentals of dealing effectively with the deficits and limitations of children with special needs. Planning it and understanding are is essential to the development of a sound education for the student based on realistic, meaningful and measurable goals. Parents have to be informed about a fatal flaw in the execution of the IEP and why not detecting it can lead to a failure in the whole process. Yoga 4 Kids - Yoga for Children & Adults with Special Needs Yoga for the Special Child(R) is a therapeutic program of yoga techniques that enhances the natural development of infants, toddlers and children with special needs. The classes include music and sound therapy, eye exercises, yoga poses, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation. Yoga for the Special Child(R) is internationally recognized and was established by Sonia Sumar in 1972.   DSAT PAL 612 - How to make Amazing PizzaFor children with DS aged 6-12! Please join us on Wednesday January 28th for an fun evening and pizza-making experience. Participants will be rolling out their own pizza dough and creating their own pizza with their choice of ingredients.
