Given the growing concerns around COVID-19, DSAT has made the decision to cancel all events for the month of March. This event is postponed to June 20, 2020.

Let's Celebrate, in recognition of World Down Syndrome Day 💙💛

WDSD is marked each year on March 21.  The 21st day of the 3rd month signifies the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.  Join us for a day of celebration and fun at The eZone and enjoy the delicious food, live entertainment and inspiring guest speakers.  Have a great time and participate in fun activities for the young and young at heart!  This event is postponed to June 20, 2020.

Join everyone around the world as we celebrate “Rock Your Socks Day” in honour of World Down Syndrome Day! Wear your crazy socks and bring awareness to Down Syndrome. Rock your Socks on March 21st by wearing your LOUDEST, CRAZIEST and most FUN pair of MISMATCHED socks and show your support worldwide for those with Down Syndrome and in celebration of WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY!

Tell your classmates,co-workers, family and friends – tell EVERYONE about Rock your Socks Day and have them join in the fun! Due to the scheduling of March Break in most schools in the GTA, we encourage schools to participate on March 12th or 13th to Rock your Socks and share on Social Media!

How to enter/participate:

We encourage everyone to wear mismatched socks, or draw pictures of mismatched socks, to raise awareness and remind people that those that are different are beautiful and unique!

1 Print our fact sheet with information on Down syndrome
2 Wear your craziest mismatched socks.
4 Take a photo and share it on social media using  #DSATWDSD2020 #RockYourSocks #DownSyndromeAwareness

Entries must be submitted before 5:00 pm on March 21st, 2020.
Submissions accepted from the schools, colleges, and universities within Toronto.
Only one entry per class.
3 winning classes will be selected at random.
Winners will be contacted after March 21st, 2020.
There will be no cash redemptions or substitutions for the pizza party prize.

Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day online

March 21, 2020

We’re proud to celebrate and advocate for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome. This year in lieu of in-person celebrations, DSAT will be encouraging everyone to raise awareness online.

Between today and March 21st, share with us how you’re celebrating World Down Syndrome Day by tagging us in a photo or video and using the hashtag #DSAT32120, to be featured on our social media channels!

Ideas for photos/videos include:

  • Which socks you’ll be wearing, choosing your socks, painting your nails in Down syndrome colors, or a message about why World Down Syndrome Day is important to YOU.
  • You can wear a t-shirt, a button, or a sticker that says something about Down syndrome
  • Share a video about Down syndrome and tag your post using the hashtag #DSAT32120

How to enter/participate:

Once you’ve posted to social media, using the hashtag #DSAT32120, you’ll be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards from Dollarama. Contest closes on March 21st at 5 pm with the winners being announced at 6 pm on social media.
